Meet the Kingsley Collection

We’re always chasing the sweet spot between history and modernity. Where classic forms meet thoughtful reinvention. The Kingsley Collection is our latest answer to that pursuit and one of our proudest releases to date.

This collection features fluted glass shades with a soft, curved silhouette that feels both grounded and graceful. Inspired by early 20th-century glasswork and refined through countless iterations, Kingsley offers a statement without shouting.

The Design Process: Starting with the Glass

We experimented with several profiles, modeling different widths and curves in 3D to study proportion and form. There’s something deeply satisfying about the repetition of vertical fluting—especially when it’s softened by a curved base. We didn’t want a design that felt too industrial or cold.

After many iterations, we landed on a 14-inch diameter shade. It’s substantial enough to hold its own over a kitchen island or in a living room, but still graceful enough to work as a flush or semi-flush mount in a bedroom or entryway.

A Quiet Nod to History

Our inspiration was rooted in the past. Fluted glass has a long legacy, especially in early 20th-century lighting. You’ll find it in Art Deco interiors and utilitarian fixtures from factories and libraries. It offered texture, softened light, and just enough ornament to elevate otherwise functional spaces.

We wanted to carry that tradition forward, but in a way that felt updated. With Kingsley, we rounded the profile and curved the dome to bring softness to the structure. The result is a form that feels at home in both classic and mid-century-inspired spaces, without leaning too hard in either direction.

From Drawing to Reality

Bringing Kingsley to life was a technical challenge—but one we welcomed. Once the final design was complete, we worked closely with our mold partners to manufacture the glass tooling. Because of the fluted edges and soft curves, the mold had to be fabricated in multiple parts, requiring an unusual level of precision.

Some of the tools used to cut and smooth the insets wore out quickly and had to be reordered multiple times, causing unexpected delays. But we knew the rounded ridges were essential to the final look and feel. That level of care and insistence on detail paid off. What emerged was exactly what we hoped for: clean fluting, soft edges, and beautifully diffused light.

Built for Versatility

We designed the Kingsley Collection to be flexible across homes and spaces. It’s available in a range of finishes and mounting styles—from warm brass to matte black, and from flush mounts to pendants. That adaptability makes it just as suitable for a cottage kitchen as it is for a modern entryway or eclectic living room.

Style-wise, it’s a blend. Classic meets mid-century. Structure meets softness. It’s the kind of light that doesn’t need to shout to make an impression. It simply belongs.

The Final Result

We’re incredibly proud of how this collection came together. It’s one of those designs where the simplicity belies the process behind it. Every curve, every ridge, every proportion was considered with care.

The Kingsley Collection honors the past while bringing something new to the present—elegant, grounded, and versatile. We hope it brings beauty, light, and a sense of intention to every space it touches.

Enjoy,
